We’ll drive technically uncomplicated, and as such reliable, oldtimers: the so-called Citroën A-types, meaning the 2cv (“tin snail/ugly duckling”) and derivatives (i.e. Dyane, Acadiane, Mehari, etc.).

Raised suspension, tuned engines, winches and snorkels, none of these are needed for our adventures; A-types, thanks to their limited weight and aircooled engines, are already perfectly suited by design to survive in “adventurous” circumstances. However, , the cars joining our trips are not entirely standard. Seeing as each 2CV is at least 35 years old by now, and considering the challenges we’ve already experienced on our previous adventures, we do require participating teams equip their cars with the following modifications:

• • At least a reinforced original chassis, but preferably a so-called tubular chassis, such as for example a chassis from Wheels
  • open suspension cylinders with reinforced tie rods, to be provided by us
  • shock absorbers  will require separate approval from us, and have to be fitted with a bridge connnecting the front and rear mountingpoints
  • skid plate under the engine
  • modified bumpers and bumpermounts which can be used for lifting and towing the car
  • recently serviced engine fitted with electronic ignition
  • Vredestein snow classic tyres
  • Added metal jerrycan measuring 20 litre and 2 inner tubes on board

You may already own an A-type, but be unable or uinwilling to make these modifications yourself: We can do this for you in our own workshop! Of course, we do require you ensure the rest of the car is in good condition. It is also possible  to purchase a vehicle entirely equipped to your desired specifications from us, so your own A-type is left original, whether you are participating in our adventures or not. Another option:

We always have at least one car in stock fully prepped for adventurous trips, so instead of having to modify your own car, there is also the option to rent one from us.
